Adopted

These precious little American Eskimo/Spaniel-mix puppies were born in the dog pound - a kill shelter!    Sweetie, their mother was dumped there, presumably because she was pregnant and about to give birth.   The pups were three days old when the pound decided that their time was up.    She and the pups were due to be put down when a rescue angel, Lisa, heard about it and rushed to the shelter to save them.   Lisa brought them to the lighthouse.

Sweetie and all the puppies were delightful. Speckles was especially sweet and had the cutest freckles on his nose.

At eight weeks of age the puppies were put up for adoption.   All five puppies and Sweetie have now been adopted, but it was a very close call.    They came too close to being part of the statistics.

Thousands of animals like these die every week in the humane society shelters across the country because pet owners fail to live up to their responsibility.

Please have your dog spayed or neutered. SAVE SOME LIVES!
